Awarded the IRMA Single Photo Gold Award..... .... at the International Regional Magazines Association which Oklahoma Today is a member of. The award was presented at their annual banquet last week for a storm image I shot near Erick, Oklahoma. It's a composition of a single tree and a mammatus and anvil cloud crown in the background. The clouds trapped late evening sunlight under the anvil which always results in a reflection of the most golden light you'll ever witness. Megan Rossman, the Associate Editor at Oklahoma Today, told me about the award in an e-mail yesterday. Megan is responsible for most of the professional blessings I've enjoyed as a photographer in the last two years. Goal and Copyright Statement
We are committed to the artistic production of high quality color, black and white prints, and panoramas produced from 35 mm digital formats. We strive to present our vision using Nikon®, Nikkor®, and Epson® equipment and papers from Epson® and Ilford®. We rely on established photographic standards and techniques; no manipulations beyond standard "wet" darkroom procedures are used during our post-production work.
All black and white photography is accomplished using the new B&W techniques created since the introduction of the Nikon D2X, D200, and the D300 cameras. My goal is to reduce the use of post-production software as much as possible. In other words, I do my best to get it right when I shoot it.
